As a leading architectural firm based in Birmingham, Associated Architects are a very well established practice that has a broad portfolio of work. Following an overhauled brand strategy, they were looking to revamp their existing online space through a stylish and relevant website that showed off the high quality of their work.
Prior to us starting the website project, Branding Agency Orb were responsible for giving Associated Architects a new brand strategy that completely reimagined and repositioned Associated as a brand of culture, experience and expertise. As Orb had laid out the key messaging as a solid foundation, it was important that we accurately reflected that on the website.
We needed to create a user experience that not only represented Associated Architects but also enhanced the changes that they had gone through; we needed to tell the Associated Architects brand story and tell it well through a beautiful and modern digital presence.
A key element of the project was to also present their project work in a meaningful way to resonate with viewers and inspire them to connect with the practice.
What we did.
We embraced the new brand work and moved it into a digital environment that clearly communicates the fundamental messaging that was created in the brand strategy. These key messages were the foundation of our thinking when designing each page of the website.
We delivered a clean, contemporary design that simplified the user experience making it easy to navigate around the site across all browsing devices. This was an important element of the project and brand ethos – making the practice more accessible and letting their work be the star of the show.
By delivering a mobile friendly website, we allowed Associated Architects to reach even more people and showcase their impressive and extensive catalogue of work. We were conscious of the brand work that had been conducted prior to us taking on the website project, so we ensured that every page was built around the intended strategy and perfectly represented Associated Architects as a very well established and sought after architectural practice.
Whilst it’s still early days to determine analytical data results from the new Associated Architects website, the new site repositions the brand digitally, in line with their respected status on the architectural landscape.
We provided them with complete flexibility within the CMS to create case studies that are truly unique to each of their projects. If you visit the Associated site, you get an instant flavour of what the practice is about, as well as getting a feel for the great culture of the brand.
The brand & digital reposition is essential for us to clearly communicate a new era at Associated Architects. It enables us to showcase everything we do openly and honestly allowing our, people, passion, processes, solutions and services to be easily available. The project has allowed us to understand who we are and where we have come from to help signify who we are today and lay down strong foundations for the future. The new website communicates this proposition.
