The challenge: rising above competitors in Google Search

Flow Office did not hold much of the market share within search and were ranking between 21st and 100th place for the keywords they currently had. Our task was to give Flow a positive increase in rankings and boost organic traffic.

Flow Office came to us in April 2019 with the goal of taking the market share within search for keywords around local industry related terms in order to boost organic traffic.

Flow Office manage office fit-outs of all shapes and sizes, working on full office redesigns that include 3D space planning, the refurbishment of office spaces and addition of furniture, or just a modernisation of an existing workspace with new furniture.

After a kick off meeting and brief into the Lightbox Digital Marketing team, we began to develop an SEO strategy for this fast-growing business.

Over a 6 month period, our SEO efforts have seen Flow Office take the top spot in Google for their target keyword and organic traffic to the site increase by over 50% in its first 2 months when compared with the previous year.

What we did

We began by looking at the current state of the client’s authority within Google and completed keyword research to give us insights into which keywords would be easily attainable versus terms with more competition around them in SERP.
The team put their focus around 4 areas of SEO:

Local SEO

As our client is based in the West Midlands, we used our knowledge of local online directories and began adding listings that were optimised based on NAP in an effort to increase traffic from local searches.

On page SEO

The Flow Office website had existing content including case studies. We took the opportunity to optimise this existing content and focus on the structure of the pages by perfecting the heading structure on the site.

Offsite SEO

We developed an outreach strategy to obtain high authority domains to add to Flow Office’s backlink profile. Outreaching around blog content has also helped Flow Office become more of a thought-leader in their industry.

Technical SEO

During the first month of SEO activity for Flow Office, we ran a technical audit to determine areas of priority.  We have continued to maintain the site’s impeccable technical health over the past 6 months.
