The challenge: increasing organic traffic on a new domain

The previous BI Limited website had experienced an increase in traffic and orders as a result of our SEO efforts. Our challenge was to continue this increase in organic traffic on a new site, with a new domain.

Harrisons Sauces came to Lightbox under the brand name BI Limited, their goal being to rank organically for an array of wholesale sauce-related keywords. 

In recent years, Harrisons Sauces expanded into the bulk condiments market, supplying a variety of sweet and savoury sauces and seasoning to a wide range of market sectors across the globe including retail, industrial, manufacturing and hospitality.

After performing search engine optimisation for BI Limited, now known as Harrisons Sauces, we worked to produce a new E-commerce website on Shopify with the “new” brand. We performed SEO migration from the old site to the new, and were tasked with building authority and driving organic traffic to the new website, under a new domain.

Since redesigning and developing the Harrisons Sauces website and commencing a pro-active SEO campaign, organic traffic to the website is up by 53% on the previous year.

By implementing our SEO strategy formed of pillars around strategy and SEO audit, onsite SEO, offsite SEO and SEO maintenance, we have increased organic traffic to the new site by over 50% in its first 2 months when compared with the previous year.

What we did

During the design and development of the new Harrisons Sauces website, the digital marketing team worked on writing fresh and updated content for the site.

We kicked off the SEO on the new site with 4 main focuses:

Local SEO

To gain more traffic from local searches, we began to add citations to Harrisons Sauces’ backlink profile. We worked on verifying and adding listings in relevant directories for our client.

On page SEO

As well as rewriting and adding optimised content to the new site, we implemented an internal linking structure and wrote custom keyword optimised metadata for each page and product.

Offsite SEO

To build up the authority of this new domain, we were able to achieve a series of high authority backlinks to increase the trust flow of the Harrisons Sauces website.

Technical SEO

Even with new sites that have almost impeccable technical health, it is important that regular technical health checks are completed to ensure the technical state of the site is in excellent condition.
