Simplifying the complex

Birmingham Community Healthcare approached Lightbox to help them simplify and streamline the way they manage their clinician resource and patient appointments. Working with their internal development team, our designers were challenged with delivering a UX (user experience) that would transform complex data stored in numerous spreadsheets into an easy to use digital experience.

Discovery & Collaboration

Working with NHS project stakeholders, we facilitated UX workshops to discover insights about each user group so that we could use the data to inform the design of the UX (User Experience).

We mapped out the user journeys and created user stories focusing on the key motivations of each user group. This allowed us to build a list of priorities at each stage of the journey and played a key role in shaping our design thinking.

Fluid Design System

Along with visual prototypes, we developed and delivered a complete Design System to the NHS development team working on the project. The Design System system set the fundamental design/UX rules and guidelines for the project allowing for seamless scalability as the project grows. It also allows the developers to work more efficiently throughout the ‘build’ phase of the project.
