We had the pleasure of being joined by digital marketing student, Alessia, for a week as she undertook an internship at Lightbox to broaden her marketing knowledge. Alessia is currently studying for her Master’s Degree at Aston University and is set to graduate this year. This internship gave Alessia the opportunity to gain valuable work experience that will look fantastic on her CV while she completes her studies.
Here’s what Alessia said about her week at Lightbox…
“My week at Lightbox left me feeling very enthusiastic because I discovered more about digital marketing, and also met inspiring people who enjoy their work.
I spend most of my time with Hannah, Mel and Autumn in the digital team where I had the opportunity to learn more about SEO and social media. I also had the chance to sit with the web developer and design teams too to gain a broader understanding of Lightbox’s complete offering. I was made to feel like part of the team from the very first day.
Not being an SEO expert myself, I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to understand what Mel and Autumn were going to show me. But I didn’t have to worry, as they walked me through each task in a simple and effective way which meant that I was able to learn at a pace that suited me and the team were always happy to answer any questions that I had too.
The Working Atmosphere
The Lightbox office captures the culture of the agency and it is a very inspiring environment to work in.
As soon as I stepped into the office, something caught my eye… it was the company tagline ‘Making Digital Human’ on the wall, a message that is clear throughout everything the team do; not only in the work that they produce and the way that they speak to their clients but also the way in which they interact with each other.
The relationship between colleagues is friendly and supportive. Every day the team will meet in the morning to share their objectives for the day ahead and talk through any challenges they are facing.
During my week I also met two other interns, Holly and Stephanie, who are studying at university like me. It was interesting to meet other people from different backgrounds who are in the same position that I am and also share the same ambitions as me.
100 Times better than any other Digital Classes at Uni…
Overall, it was a great week and I feel incredibly lucky to have been presented with this opportunity. I learnt a lot over the week I was at Lightbox and was given a lot of suggestions on how to develop my learning further, including blog suggestions as well as practical work on digital platforms.
I will continue to explore the digital marketing world more and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Lightbox!”
We are grateful for all that Alessia did during her week with us and wish her all the best for her bright future in digital marketing.
